Our app requires access to your device camera to scan QR codes for attendance marking. Here is how we handle this permission:

• Camera access is requested only when you initiate a QR scan within the app

• QR code content is processed locally on your device for attendance verification
• The camera is never accessed in the background
• You can revoke camera permission at any time through your Android device settings

The Student Attendance App sends push notifications to keep you informed about your attendance status and important updates. Notifications may include:

• Confirmation of successfully marked attendance
• Alerts when attendance falls below the minimum required threshold
• Reminders for upcoming classes or sessions
• System announcements and app updates from your institution

You can manage or disable notifications at any time through your Android device's Settings → Apps → Student Attendance App → Notifications. Disabling notifications will not affect your attendance records or any other app functionality.

Your attendance records are stored securely on our servers (or your institution's servers) and are accessible only to authorized users — namely, you, your teachers, and institutional administrators.

• Attendance data is associated with your unique student/staff account ID
• Historical records are retained for the duration of your academic enrollment
• Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS protocols
• Access to records is role-based: students see their own records; faculty see class-level data
• Upon account deactivation, data may be archived per your institution's data retention policy

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Your data may only be shared in the following limited circumstances:

• Your Institution: Authorized faculty and administrative staff of your enrolled institution may access attendance and profile data as part of the academic process
• Service Providers: Trusted technical partners (e.g., cloud hosting, notification services) who operate under strict confidentiality agreements and process data solely on our behalf

The Student Attendance App is designed for use by students and educational staff within institutional environments. If the app is used by students under the age of 13, it is done so under the supervision and consent of the educational institution, which is responsible for obtaining any necessary parental/guardian consent in compliance with applicable laws such as COPPA.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 outside of an institutional context without proper parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we do:
